The Museum of Fine Arts Boston offers many free gallery tours, talks, and drop-in activities.

Visiting with kids? Try the MFA Guide Kids’ Tour. 

It introduces young visitors age 6 to 10 to the Art of the Americas and Contemporary collections.

Animated characters: Lucia, Steve, and Malone help kids look at art in new, creative ways.


Rent an MFA Guide at any ticket desk, Sharf Visitor Center, and Gund Gallery (LG31) entrance when an exhibition is on view for a small fee.

MFA Guides are free for visitors who are Deaf or blind.

Youths ages 7–17:

- Admission is free during weekdays after 3 pm, weekends, and Boston public school holidays;

10 am–10 pm (Wed - Fri)

MFA Boston is Closed on the following Holidays:

By T (subway/ Metro train) to MFA Boston:

- Take the Green Line E train outbound towards Heath Street

- Exit at the Museum of Fine Arts  stop (closest) or Fenway at Landmark Center station

By Bus to MFA Boston :

- Take the No. 39 bus

- Exit at the Museum of Fine Arts stop.
