Fukuoka - Kushida-jinja - Travel Guide


Kushida-jinja or shrine is the oldest Shinto shrine in Fukuoka city also known as “Okushida-san”.

The present structure is dated back to late 1500. This shrine was founded in AD 757.

This is an active shrine and people visit here to pray for long happy life and business prosperity.

This shrine is famous for its festival in July every year.

Getting There

 

Take Subway to “Nakasu-kawabata” or “Gion”
Follow signs or directions on the map (not many signs available). If needed ask for directions.
Approx. 5-8 min walk from “Nakasu-kawabata” or “Gion”

 

Recommendations

 

• Combine visit to Kushida-jinja with Tochoji Temple. They are located 5 minutes apart by walk.
• This is an active shrine and many people come to pray so please be respectful when visiting.
