Multnomah Falls - Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area

 

Falling 620 feet (189 m), this is Oregon’s tallest waterfall. The activities in the area go from easy to difficult hikes.
Hang out by the gift shop and visitors center for an easy pace. Make the 1/4-mile hike up to the Benson Bridge for a mild walk.
For a bit more challenge, hike up a steep trail 1.2 miles for great views of the falls and Columbia River Gorge.
For serious hikers, continue for 6 miles to Larch Mountain or Wahkeena Loop Trail.

This area is remote so rent a car for comfort and ease.
If you are traveling East and would like to see the Key waterfall area on the way take Exit 17 or 18 and follow the Historic Columbia River Highway.
Dress in layers, bring water, snacks, and wear good walking shoes.
