By DC Metro to National Mall and Memorial Parks in Washington DC:

Take the Orange or Blue Line

To reach the East end of the National Mall area exit at any of these DC Metro stops:

• Federal Center (3rd and D Streets, SW)

• L'Enfant Plaza (Maryland Avenue and 7th Street, SW)

• Archives-Navy Memorial (Pennsylvania Avenue and 7th Street, NW)

• Smithsonian (12th Street on the Mall, SW)

• Federal Triangle (12th Street between Pennsylvania and Constitution Avenues, NW)

To reach the West end of the National Mall area exit at any of these DC Metro stops:

• Farragut West (17th and I or 18th and I Streets, NW)

• Foggy Bottom/George Washington University (23rd and I Streets, NW)

• Arlington Cemetery (Arlington Memorial Bridge over the Potomac River)

- Take the DC Circular bus to get around the National Mall area. 

  DC Circular bus is economical, convenient, and saves you from way too much walking.

- Most of the monuments and memorials go in a loop but are not very close to each other. 

- Take the following route/ clusters (all within reasonable walking distance from each other):

1. Constitution Gardens, Vietnam Memorial,  Lincoln Memorial,  Korean War Memorial,  World War 2 Memorial

2.  MLK Memorial, FDR Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Washington Memorial

- Consider taking the DC Circulator bus between these two clusters of memorials and parks.

- Kids 12 and under can earn Jr. Ranger badges for a nice souvenir.
